Check out this article. I was totally shocked. A group of pedophiles is starting a political group in Amsterdam to make the consenting age for sex 12 instead of 16. It also wants child porn to be made legal as well as sex with animals. It's ultimate goal is to scrap the age limit for sex altogether....and saying they are for childrens rights to make their own decisions. Ad Van Den Berg, one of the founders of this "political party",said..
"We want to get into parliament so we have a voice. Other politicians only talk about us in a negative sense, as if we were criminals," Van den Berg told Reuters."
Oh realllly? Yeah, you're not a criminal...you just molest small children and have sex with the neighbors dog...no big deal.
They also say that toddlers should be given sex ed classes and that kids over 16 should be allowed to star in porn and prostitute themselves. They think sex with animals should be legal but that the abuse of them should remain illegal. Oh...and they said they support showing porn on daytime tv with only the violent porn limited to the late evening. AND..they say everyone should be allowed to go naked in public and soft and hard drugs should be legal and that everyone should have free train travel.
Um..I'm not sure where that last random part came from. "I want to have sex with toddlers and sheep..OH..and I want to ride the train for free!" I have never been so shocked by any news story as I was when I read this. They can't really be serious...can they?? If it is, this is what I propose..
We start our own political group stating that all pedophiles have to have a tattoo on their forehead identifying themselves as one and that no crime is illegal when it's done to a pedophile. Sound good? Yep..I like it!! Sign me up!!

Pedophiles to launch political party!?

Yep..I'm it's bitch.
It's addictive and is sucking up too much of my time. At time's I wonder if I'm being held captive. Call it the Nightinggale Effect, but I can't seem to tear myself away fromMySpaces's firm grip. It started out just as a way to peer into everyone else's lives from behind a one way mirror, but then it snowballed and I have an official MySpace page...complete with comments, music and a virtual pet named Nelly Bean. I am MySpace's bitch.
At first, I had planned on just finding people that I used to be good friends with but just lost touch. Then, I figured, why not say hi to people I went to high school with? So, I now have 36 friends which include a few bands here and there. Most are people I actually know and am glad to know they're all doing well. Some I talk to on a daily basis, but most, it's just through email. What's strange is that the people I've been talking to the most, I wasn't even really friends w/ in high school. One guy who I was friends with, lives only about 25 minutes from me. Somehow a lot of us ended up in NC. I guess that's because it's far enough away from home that you can have your own life, but it's close enough that if you want to visit, you can.
I still find myself searching for a lot of people I've lost touch with. I have no idea where they are or how to get in touch w/ them. My old friend Kelly M...I think she's still in Roanoke, but I don't know how to contact her. We were best friends for years and then just grew apart. I don't dislike her and I hope she's very happy, but it's not a friendship I'd like to rekindle. We're too different now and have nothing in common except the past. It makes me kind of sad to think about it. I also don't have a way of contacting anyone I went to college with....most of them I only knew by first name. I'll keep everyone posted on my progress to find those who are MIA. How the hell do you find someone who joined the military but don't know which branch they're in and they have such a common name, you get over a thousand hits back on it while searching??? If anyone knows..please let me know. Alas..I need to get back to work....I guess that makes me UNC's bitch too.....

Ghosts and Battleships
WOW! What a whirlwind weekend in Wilmington! We didn't leave until Saturday morning, so Friday night, we went to Applebee's and saw X-Men: The Last Stand. It was really good! Saturday, we got up early, dropped the dogs off and headed to Wilmington. Our first stop was the Battleship North Carolina. We walked around for about 4.5 hours taking pictures and soaking in the history. Totally amazing to see and experience!! Jeff took no less than 4 pictures of my ass while we were on that boat. Some were deliberate, others were just coincidental..but I now have enough pictures to make a big ass collage..literally.
After that, we checked in to a rather crappy Ho Jo and then had dinner at Sticky Fingers...mmmmmm. We made our way into the historical section of Wilmington and parked so we could enjoy a nice stroll down the River Walk. The gnats were horrible!! I was cursing myself for leaving the bug spray in the room. We got in line to go on one of the Ghost Walks and the very nice pirate gave us some OFF spray before the journey. I'll have to condense a lot of this b/c it'll go on forever otherwise.
The Ghost Walk is where they take you on a walking tour of reportedly haunted houses in historical Wilmington. They give you a brief history of the violent/tragic death that occurred in the house as well as recent spottings of that particular ghost. We had several strange things happen on our 2 hour walk of route 8.
We walked past a massive house that used to be an orphanage where several children were killed. The current family accepts the ghosts as part of the family and all is well b/c they're good spirits. In our group of 13, we began moving on to the next house. Jeff and I were taking pictures hoping to get one of a ghostly being..so the rest of the group was ahead of us. They had already crossed the street and were waiting for us. Jeff was in the road crossing and I was still on the sidewalk..glancing back at the house. At that time, the motion sensor light came on. Twelve people had already walked past it..but it didn't come on until I passed it. Interesting. Doing some research tonight, I read that ghostly "energy" seeks out others with a similar or psychic energy...so maybe that could explain it. Maybe the kids flipped on the light as a way of saying hello. I also read that people who have been reincarnated carry with them energies of who they used to be, so who knows.
The next house was where a woman had died while giving birth. Jeff got a chill up his spine at the same time our pirate guide introduced a nightly visitor..a cat had walked up behind Jeff and was just standing there staring at us all. The guide says she comes out every time a group goes by...she looks at everyone, then just goes about her business.
The tour consisted of about 8 houses, but the last house was that of Mrs. Love. She supposedly can be seen in her bedroom window dressed in black or white lace while smoking a pipe. The house was up for sale and pitch black..not a single light on. I did notice a black and white cat sitting on a car looking at us, but other than that..didn't notice anything. As we were leaving and I glanced back, I swore I saw something in the corner of what used to be Mrs. Love's bedroom window. I thought maybe it was a reflection off a car going by..or just the angle..but I decided I wanted to go back to look again. Our pirate bid us adieu and we went back..about 3 minutes after we'd left it..and at least 3 lights in the house were on. Strange. No new cars were there.
Our pirate also told us about a cemetery on the corner of 4th and Market St. that he said never disappoints to show you something, so we headed that way for some pictures. A few of the pictures showed questionable stuff, but nothing we could prove. There was a bush that looked like a breeze was moving the leaves, but the bushes on either side weren't moving..and I didn't feel a breeze. Then there's the matter of the streetlamp. It came on after we took pictures for awhile and I told Jeff that maybe the ghosts turned it on b/c they knew we needed more light. When he made a rude comment, the light went out. I said that he was kidding and asked if they could turn it on again...and the light came back on. After a few minutes..it went off again, so I asked if they could turn it on again, and it came back on.
It could be a coincidence..but maybe not. It doesn't explain mine and Jeff's cameras. Mine quit working..it wouldn't turn off...so I took the batteries out..and it took a picture without batteries..then shut off. After that, it was normal. After Jeff made a rude comment, his quit working and it wasn't until he apologized that it started working again. Hmmm. So, after that, we went back to HoJo and crashed.
Sunday, Jeff took me on a surprise visit to the NC Aquarium in Fort Fisher. It rocked!! It looked very natural and they had a lot of things you could touch, like sea urchins, starfish, crabs, turtles, etc. There was even an outdoor section. I got the number for someone in husbandtries so I could talk to them about finding a home for my turtles..so we'll see!
When we got home, I crashed...I was so tired..but it was such a fun weekend. I can't wait to go back to go on a different Ghost Walk route...hehe..anyway..that was my weekend!! Yawwwnnnnnn...

What's up w/ all the Hollywood babies??
Have you noticed the new fad in Hollywood? It is now deemed cool to have children. They treat it the same as the newest handbag.."Oh..did you see Madonna's newest Gucci bag??? I have to have one!!!" I don't get it. All they're doing is producing a generation of snobby, spoiled rich kids. Well except Britney..she's producing rich, spoiled trailer trash which means they get to buy "organic" grits, okra and green tomatos and have blind Malasian children handknit the family's wife-beaters and camo pants. I bet they'll even have their own servants to pick tobacco from fields for their dip.
Then there's the names..Coco, Apple, Bluebell, Fallulah, Kal-el. Is that a contest too?? Who can come up with the most unusual name??
It just makes pisses me off that they're having all these children while Jeff and I have been struggling for the past 3 years. If I had their money and resources, I'd have 3 kids by now too...and I'd look hot 1 week after the birth too. Ok..I think I'm done with my rant..lol.
A Work Story..
Ok..so tonight, we've had this woman in the hospital who's been trying to dial out using a calling card and keeps dialing 911 instead. About the 5th or 6th time, she was really upset and I finally told her I'd send help. I called hospital police to let them know and this is how the conversation went :
HP: Hospital Police.
Me: Hey, it's Campus.
HP: Hey, now.
Me: How're you guys doin'?
HP: Just havin' a blast.
Me: Counting down the hours till it's time to get off?
HP: I am.
Me: Haha..me too.
HP: It's 2 hours and 18 minutes.
Me: Haha. Um, I have a woman...
HP: Heh heh..Ooooo..haha
Me:..(giggling)who's over there in the hospital, that's been trying to use her calling card and I don't know if she's on drugs and...can't
HP: Well I haven't seen her at the meetin's..
Me: Hahaha..and can't see, but she keeps calling back in here repeatedly and she's getting really upset... and so I didn't know if there was a nurse that could go by and help her dial out.
HP: Where's she at?
Me: She said..well, her name is (blank).she said she's in room 18 but this thing is showing room xx18.
HP: Let's see. Yeah...they kill me. They don't know where they're at. (blank) is in room xx18. (# )West. If she's on (#) West, that means she's probably going to die.
Me: (nervous giggle)
HP: It's like the elephant graveyard.
Me: (nervous giggle) OH, um...
HP:"Oh, well you look pretty bad, let's send you to (#) West."
Me: ..Um, Yeah, but she said she got out earlier and now she can't. We tried to explain to her how it works but she's not getting it.
HP: Ok, well I'll call (#) West and tell them to go help ol' (Blank) out or give her something to make her sleep...
Me: Ok
HP: ...cause I'm almost asleep myself.
Me: Yeah, me too..hahaha
HP: Well ya'll have fun and we'll see you later.
Me: Ok.
HP: Bye
Me: Bye.
Dude...WTF?? I wasn't sure if he was joking..or what. Extremely insensitive, but the shock of it still made me laugh. I still can't believe he said that. I wish I could remember all the other stuff he's said that made my jaw drop. He's always saying crazy stuff but he's always in a good mood. At least I know now that if they tell me they're going to put me in that wing, I'll be like.."Oh hell no you're not!" Anyway, I thought I'd share part of what I experience night after night at work..

Weird Thoughts....
Here's a few questions and thoughts that I've asked in conversation during really late, slow night shifts...these are original thoughts..not stolen from somewhere else
If dragons can breathe fire, do they fart fire too??
If you could have 1 superpower, what would it be??
Everyone thinks that all these mass casualties happening in the world, such as the Tsunami's, 9/11, and Hurricane Katrina..are just horrible. What if it's God's method of population control? It saves time from killing us off one at a time...think of it as multi-tasking.
A lot of people are on a health kick now, trying to get in shape and lose weight. So, what if everyone was to lose all the weight they wanted? That means the earth would weigh less..and wouldn't that mean it would spin faster and our days would be shorter? Or, if everyone gained a lot of weight..would it spin slower making our days longer?? OR..if someone loses weight..does someone somewhere else gain the exact same amount so that the earth always weighs the same and therefore rotates at the same speed??
What do you want your epitaph to read when you die?
If cat clones don't look the same as the original, why do they expect a person to look the same?
How did Han Solo breathe when they froze him in carbonite? My husband answered this one by stating he was in suspended animation and didn't breathe...
That's all I can think of right now..when I think of more, I'll edit this entry or post a new one. This is also posted at my MySpace page in my blog, so you can also check it out there.

Happy POETS Day!!!!
Hey all!! Happy POETS Day!! For those of you who don't know what it means...POETS means...Piss On Everything Tomorrow's Saturday! Woo Hoo! Jeff's out of town and I'll miss him, but it means I get to do whatever I want whenever I want. If I want to vacuum at 3am, I can. If I want to dance naked to Atomic Dog, I can. If I want to play Karaoke Revolution at top volume, I totally can. If all the dogs in central NC cover their ears..you'll know why. Oooo..I can also lay out on the deck naked!! I need some sun..I'm kinda pasty. I also don't have to fight anyone to get online!! I love my honey....but I enjoy the alone time too. It lets me catch up on toenail painting and whatnot.
This weekend..I'm going to force myself not to think about what a shithole work has become due to a certain part time, fat dumbass who thinks he's our boss. We're fully staffed and he's not on the schedule to work..but he comes in anyway and gets paid 20 some hours of OVERTIME??? As a part-timer?? WTF?? Is that an HR issue? I'd love to complain..but I can't complain to my boss..b/c they're close friends and she wouldn't do anything. The big boss loves him too..so I'm not sure what to do. I want his ass out of here. Even if I do get this other job, he shouldn't be in here. If I stay here..he'll make my life a living hell. He's taking it upon himself to train all of us..but half of it is wrong and I swear he just made it up. Well, that and he's not certified to train us. The other part time guy has been here longer, but he was only given 1 shift this month. The asshole..comes in and works day shift M-F but won't work nights or weekends. He's part time..he should work when they need him to, not when he wants to. When he does work nights, he leaves early even if he's scheduled all night. Bastard. Grrrrrrr...
Ok..I just needed to vent so I don't take it home w/ me!! I feel much better! Alright..back to work so I can finish and get home to enjoy my weekend!!
A meeting with the Bob's
Most of you don't know this, but I had applied for a job with the SBI about 3 weeks ago. When I hadn't heard anything, I figured I wasn't picked. So, last Thursday while running around getting ready for Jeff's graduation...I get a phone call asking me to come in for an interview. They told me I had to take a test on the Administrative Code before the interview. So...I read the whole thing and was worried as hell over it. Turns out, it was so simple I finished it in 15 minutes.
I also tried to brush up on my interview skills since it's been awhile. I went in thinking I was prepared for it..but I was far from it. There were 3 people on the interview panel, 2 men and a woman. They wanted very specific answers that seemed to be geared towards someone already on the inside. I completely bombed one question but they were extremely impressed with another. The rest were sufficient answers, but nothing that made me stand out. Eh..now it's just a waiting game. They had 39 interviews and said it'd take a month or two to let me know. I could go on for weeks thinking of stuff I should have said or should have done...so it does no good to dwell on it. What's done is done and there's no changing it. If I don't get it..I'll be disappointed, but I'll still have Brooke. She's the only part of my job that keeps me coming in night after night. I just hope they can see through all of my bumbling answers and nervousness and think I'm right for the job.
I've been behind Jeff for the past 5 years taking a backseat position trying to help him get where he wants to be. He's come a long way. I was behind him while he was at Pizza Hut and starting school again..and I'm behind him now that he's done with his associates and has a well paying job at IBM. I consider that a huge step and a great accomplishment, so I feel that it's his turn to take the backseat while I pursue what I want to do. It just seemed to make more sense for me to stay at UNC instead of adding to the turmoil by switching jobs when he was going through a lot of transitions.
Sigh...it'll be my turn..one day. He's wanting to get his pilot's license and then wants to get his bachelor's...I'm just wondering where kids fit in to all of this. Maybe they don't. He has so many hobbies and spends so much time fiddling w/ computers and gadgets...I just kinda wish one of his hobbies..was me. Maybe that'll happen if I get this job with the SBI. Our hours will be the same, which will allow a lot more time together....I'm just trying not to get my hopes up. They only get crushed when they do. We'll see..(fingers crossed!)

My honey had a bad day...
My poor Jeffrey..He had such a rough day. Today was his presentation for the project he's been working on all semester. The rest of the group had no clue what was going on because Jeff did it all. Then, after all the work he's put into the project, it didn't work right...so he beat himself up all day for it. He never even made it to work and came home looking very defeated. My sweetie didn't even get to have lunch. He looked like he needed lots of hugs, but the ones he got were very minimal because I had to get ready for work. I just wanted to curl around him and make all the bad stuff go away.
His graduation is on Thursday and I'm so proud of him. He's worked his ass off and deserves to have something grand to celebrate it. I couldn't afford much, but I got him a little something. What upsets me most is that his parents may miss the whole thing. They both have to work the night before and were planning on leaving by 10am to get to the 4pm ceremony, but would miss the 1am one. Well, it turns out, Jeff only has to go to the 1pm ceremony...so they won't be able to make it in time. I'd like to call them to see if there's any way they could get off work a little early to be able to make it on time. He tries to play it like this is no big deal, but I think it means more to him than he lets on. It means just as much to me as it does to him. I'm so proud of all the work he's done and the sacrifices he's made. I'm also happy he's done so that we can spend more time together! I miss my honey having spare time...even if it's just 15 min. to cuddle on the couch before dinner or before work.
Anyway...nothing else has really been going on that I can think of right now. When I think of something, You'll see it here 1st!

Rainy weekend in Richmond
Hello all! I passed my kidney stone late Friday night, so I'm feeling A-Ok! Still have to pay a visit to urology at some point, but I am no longer praying for death and am looking forward to mine and Jeff's 5 yr. anniversary this weekend. So...onto the reason for my post...
Since I passed the stone, I was able to go with Jeff to Richmond to pick up those chairs. I was still groggy from the drugs, but was mostly awake for the trip up there. We picked up the chairs, had lunch at Wendy's and then drove around. We found ourselves down by the riverwalk at a Farmer's Market where booths were set up to purchase the wares of the local folk. Even with the buckets of rain, it was rather quaint and homey. We then tried to find the Edgar Allen Poe Museum and followed the signs..only to end up nowhere. Instead, we went to the Museum of the Confederacy at the VCU Hospital. There was one uniform that had a bullet hole through the chest w/ a ring of blood around it. It amazed me that a person was killed in those clothes over a hundred years ago. Anyhow, if you get a chance to see it, it's very intriguing.
After the museum, we decided to eat at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse off the Midlothian Pkwy. We'd both heard stellar things about it but had never had the opportunity to go, so we thought we'd try it out. It was incredible...the steak melted in your mouth. It was insanely expensive..$140...but we've spent more at other places before, like Four Seasons and Angus Barn. Ruth's Chris was easily in the top 5 best meals I've ever had...and you should try Magic Hat beer if you ever get the chance!! I'm not a beer person, but damn..that was tasty. It tastes like an ale, but has a raspberry aftertaste.
After dinner, we piddled around at a boat store and got lost in the section of Richmond you hope you never see. I slept most of the way home, so I had enough energy to pick up my car at work and drive it home. It'd been sitting there since I went to the ER Tuesday. We got home around 2am and just crashed.
Sunday, I gave Jeff money for his birthday and he went to the Raleigh Hamfest and spent it. He also got a biminy top for the boat for $20! Woo hoo! We'll have some shade now! Now all he has to do is get another seat, make some minor repairs and we'll have her in the water soon. I can't wait! I have no idea what our anniversary plans are. Jeff has to get his class project done and then he has exams coming up. His graduation is May 11th, but he may not go b/c his parents said they couldn't make it...so it'd just be me cheering for him.
We may just have an anniversary/graduation celebration in the form of a trip at the end of May...but we'll see how money's holding up by then. We had to pay in taxes this year and it really hurt. Oh well..we'll get through it like we do everything else! I'm not too stressed. Ok..enough for now..I get to go home and leave this little room that feels like it might as well be on the surface of the sun. ......that reminds me..my genius of a husband fixed our AC last night. God bless him! AC was the best invention ever. Next to bananahammocks.
